Basildon is changing ... be a part of that change
Basildon is alive with opportunity. It is a place where things are happening. It is a place where regeneration is growing communities. Regeneration is proceeding at a rapid rate and by 2020 the Basildon District will be transformed by massive investment into the health and education services; enhanced green and open space; and first class leisure, culture and housing. These will all be supported by strong and vibrant town centres and an ever booming economy creating jobs for local people.
Basildon already has a proud and positive community that will develop further as our regeneration plans mobe forward. Basildon's people will flourish in a rejuventated district with the best access to education and skills, healthcare provision, leisure and cultural services, and some of the best green and open space in the region.
The Regeneration Framework tells the story and puts the plans together that will make this happen. The Regeneration priorities and programme focus on five themes:
- Regeneration of Town Centres
- Quality Housing
- The Basildon Economy
- Culture and the Environment
- Health and Education
These priorities are bound together by three vital supporting themes:
- The Community
- Transport infrastructure
- High quality design and suatainable development
