Basildon was represented at the 2007 Thames Gateway Forum and hosted two successful on-stand events:

On Wednesday 28th, Paralympic gold medallist Danny Crates hosted a champagne and canapé launch to mark the start of the process to engage a partner to design, build, operate and maintain the Basildon Sporting Village.

Attendees championing the Sporting Village included local advocates and London 2012 Games hopeful James Shane, who is supported by Basildon District Council.

On Thursday 29^th Novembe, Chris Balch, Chairman of the Basildon Renaissance Partnership and Bala Mahendran, Chief Executive of Basildon District launched Basildon District Regeneration Framework.
