Basildon District is formed by the five towns of Basildon, Billericay, Wickford, Pitsea and Laindon, in a highly accessible location only 30 minutes from London. Each possess their own strong economy, and all have contributed significantly and increasingly to the skilled labour market of the area and London.
Basildon is the business hub of South Essex within the Thames Gateway: the national priority area for economic regeneration. The focus is already being placed on this area and is set to grow.
Supported by in-depth research, local consultation, life cycle studies and reviews of external renewal projects in the country, the transformation planned for Basildon is far-reaching, addressing the demands of every sector. Most importantly it is future proof. The plans to transform Basildon and expand its economy are set in commercial reality. Nothing produced to date or in the future will be without viability and feasibility appraisals.
