The Partnership is directed by a Strategic Board, and the membership is as follows:

Strategic Board objectives:

• To bring together the key partners, working together for the common good of Basildon
• Collective responsibility for the regeneration of Basildon District including the preparation of the Regeneration Framework and master plans for strategic projects
• To commission regeneration projects and associated work from partners, including securing funding, and to monitor these projects
• To identify and seek to resolve the problems linked to regeneration
• To agree respective partners commitment to regeneration projects and agree upon the most appropriate ways to support regeneration
• To input into national, regional and Thames Gateway policy

The partnership also plays a key role in:

• Getting agreement between partners about the type, size and quality of regeneration in Basildon and helping to secure the resources to achieve this vision
• Integrating individual projects led by partners to achieve the agreed vision for Basildon
• Contributing towards achieving the Regional Spatial Strategy target of 10,700 new homes by 2021
• Supporting the creation of 11,000 new jobs by 2021
• Maintaining the existing employment base
• Regenerating town centres and business areas to improve them and increase competitiveness
• Getting investment in community facilities and the environment that improve the quality of life in Basildon and ensuring that sporting and cultural facilities are included in regeneration plans
• Ensuring that all projects contribute towards sustainable development
