Basildon town centre is set for massive redevelopment and investment. A strategic development partner is being sought to deliver Basildon town centre's £1 billion regeneration that will see over:
- 49,000 square metres net extension to the retail and leisure offer
- 55,000 square metres of new offices, including a new civic centre for the Council and other public sector services
- 3,650 new homes
- Re-development of the current railway station
- New buildings and public squares of the highest quality
A development framework was approved by Basildon Council in June 2006.

Some development is already underway and 650 new homes have been granted planning permission. At the Hollybrook site opposite Basildon train station, over 120 new apartments are being developed. Click here to view its progress >>
